Loss and grief
You're reading this because you are dealing with some tragic loss, painful change or grief in your life.
When we lose something or someone we treasure, and this includes anything or anyone who is important to us, we cannot believe what has happened.
We often hope we are mistaken and that everything will be all right - tomorrow. But it just gets worse and more upsetting when tomorrow comes and we are forced to accept our loss or aloneness all over again.
We can also become angry and begin to blame someone else for our loss and pain. Sometimes we get angry at our family and friends because they don't understand. And sometimes we even blame ourselves. This confuses us even more because sometimes we feel guilty or somehow to blame for our loss.
Our anger can get hotter and hotter and we may feel a fury we have never known before. We may be tempted to pass our pain on to others around us and we may say or do things which only add to our feelings of grief, guilt and pain.
It can be a good idea to talk with someone else who has known grief or sadness because they have survived and may be able to help you.
