Alcohol or drug addiction
Addictions are really hard to shift and we often need help to pull us through the hard times.
No one, least of all you, deserves to struggle with this alone for another moment. This shouldn't be happening to you. Just think, if you could fix this, wouldn't everything be different?
People often use alcohol or drugs to blur-out something painful. If your life or situation is causing you to escape into an addiction, you should know that you have a real chance of changing this.
You might feel like drugs and alcohol are the only way to go because you don't care about yourself. But you might also be tired of trying to be cool or acting like you belong to your friends' circles while feeling empty inside when you are not doing drugs with them.
Or, you might be tired of your body aching the next day. Not to mention the lost time and or the emptiness you might be feeling.
Help is available. You can learn skills to step out of this lost and lonely feeling. You can break out of your isolation through a method called habit reduction, where someone supports you in figuring out how you got this way. And, by taking one less hit or drink each day, you will find the gem you are inside.
Deep down, you are capable of doing what you see other people around you doing. You might need some skills your family couldn't give you when you were a child, or someone to walk with you while you make some changes.
Young people just like you often ask why they didn't get help sooner. One day all this will be a thing of the past and you will have the skills to prevent yourself slipping into a vicious cycle of addiction again.
Take your next powerful step into a full life, free of the addictions which currently rule you.
